You have tolerated excessively-sized e-mails for a prolonged period
of
time. As worthwhile as they may become, waiting on the telephone
to
download has threatened to tax friendships. Although none of
you have
requested to be dropped from my list (for whatever reason), at least
one
of you (as noted recently) expressed the view (charitably phrased)
that
provision of all the raw data may not be necessary.
I have finally updated my personal web-site (which was created two years
ago and then ignored), and I have finally uploaded key tobacco-related
documents onto the GlobaLink site provided by Ruben Israel.
For example, instead of reprinting today's piece in the New York Times
(which will disappear from its web-site at midnight), I will provide
the
link to GlobaLink in Geneva, Switzerland:

This interview is of-interest because it could have been given by a
Big
Tobacco CEO.
Putting aside the deprecating comments (e.g., Congressional anti-tobacco
activists use their position as a child might use a sandbox), he admits
that the Engle case both establishes a fiscal norm for damages and
could
make-break Big Tobacco's financial future. All this is couched
in the
traditional public optimism. . .that also existed a year ago, before
the
stocks dropped 50%.
I have started to move key documents into this "Under Construction"
site, which you can visit by starting at:
http://members.home.net/rsklaroff/homepage.html.
Amazingly, 204 people went there in November, only to find a two-year
old essay and hyperlinks that had lost their targets. Perhaps
with the
anticipated activity this week, a visit will be found to be more useful.
The "history" of my involvement with tobacco litigation may contain
references that others may not appreciate, but I'm calling it as I've
seen it. In particular, those who support the Agencies
(Heart-Lung-Cancer) and/or Organized Medicine may not be pleased, but
I
have emphasized candor. Ultimately, this document is to provide
a
foundation for hyperlinks to many others, but any suggested revisions
in
its content are cordially invited.
